Your perfect fit awaits
Welcome to The Kindred Collective's size guide! Finding the right fit online can be tricky, especially with unique and vintage clothing. We're here to help you choose with confidence. Our sizes vary wildly because our inventory is unique. Please ignore the size on the garment tag and always reference the exact flat measurements provided for this specific item to ensure your perfect fit.

Trust the measurements, not the label
At The Kindred Collective, we specialize in handcrafted and vintage clothing. Standard sizing labels (like S, M, L, or numbers) can be inconsistent across different decades and brands. To ensure the best fit, we focus on providing accurate measurements for each item.

Conquer your sizing concerns
We understand the biggest worry: the fear of buying something that won't fit properly. We aim to eliminate that concern with detailed measurements and a transparent return/exchange policy. Buying online can be a great experience when you have the right information.
- Waste of Time & Effort: Having to re-package, print labels, drop off a return, and then wait for a refund/exchange.
- Inconsistency: Fear that a "Large" from one brand or decade won't be the same as a "Large" from another.
- Disappointment: The excitement of a new item turning into frustration when it arrives and doesn't fit the way they hoped.
- Cost & Delay: Worry about return shipping fees or the long time it takes to get the correct size or their money back.
- Unflattering Fit: Fear that the item may technically "fit," but the cut, fabric, or drape is not flattering on their body.
- Lack of Tactile Information: Inability to physically touch or try on the item to judge quality, stretch, or true color.

How we measure
We specifically measure the bust, waist, hips, and length of every unique garment (especially vintage pieces) to give you the most accurate fit information possible. Relying on the labeled size, or a general standard, is not recommended for our unique collection. This approach ensures you get the perfect fit for your one-of-a-kind discovery!
1. Body Measurement Diagram (Customer Reference)
This diagram shows a standardized figure (male and female) with lines indicating the key reference points for the customer to measure their own body before checking the garment listing.
- Bust/Chest: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the measuring tape horizontal.
- Natural Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your torso, typically right above the belly button.
- Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your bottom and upper thighs.
- Inseam: Measure from the crotch seam down to the ankle bone.
2. Garment Measurement Diagram (Store Reference)
This diagram should show a flat lay of a shirt or dress and a pair of pants, indicating the "flat measurement" method used by the store for vintage/used clothes.
- Bust (Garment): A line drawn straight across the chest of the shirt, one inch below the armpit. Description: We measure the item laid flat, from seam-to-seam across the bust, and double that number.
- Shoulder to Hem: A line drawn straight from the highest point of the shoulder down to the bottom hem. Description: This shows the total length of the garment.
- Sleeve Length: A line drawn from the shoulder seam down to the end of the cuff.
- Waist (Garment): A line drawn straight across the top band of the pants/skirt. Description: We measure the garment laid flat, from side-to-side, and double that number.
